Description
How high are you right now? If you have a precision altitude sensor, you know for sure! The DPS310 sensor from Infineon is a high-precision air pressure sensor that is ideal for measuring altitude changes with up to ±0.002 hPa (or ±0.02 m) accuracy in high-precision mode and ±1 hPa absolute accuracy. This means that when you set the sea level air pressure, you know your absolute altitude with an accuracy of 1=meter and measure altitude changes with an accuracy of up to 2 cm. This makes it a great sensor for drones or other highly sensitive robots. The sensor also performs well in any environmental sensing suite, you can use it to predict changes in weather systems
You can use this sensor with I2C or SPI, so it is easy to integrate. It also has a built-in temperature sensor with an accuracy of ± 0.5°C. To get the lowest noise readings, set it to take multiple measurements and perform a low-pass filter, which is built-in! You can use it in an ambient temperature range of 300 to 1200 hPa and -40 to 85 °C.
To make life easier so you can focus on the important work, we put the sensor on a breakout PCB along with the supporting circuitry so you can use it at either 3.3V (compatible with Feather/compatible with Raspberry Pi) or 5V (compatible with Arduino/compatible with Metro328) logic levels. Plus, since it supports I2C, you can easily hook it up with two wires (plus power and ground!). We even include a connector compatible with SparkFun qwiic for the I2C bus, so you don't even have to solder!
